MANILA, Jan. 12 (PNA) -- Leading Philippine telecom and digital services provider PLDT and its mobile phone and Internet provider subsidiary Smart Communications will provide Filipinos a wide-ranging access, on multiple platforms, to the 2016 Miss Universe pageant.

“With our robust network capabilities and the largest consumer base of over 75 million Filipinos, millions of fans can watch the pageant events via multiple platforms, whether on TV, laptop or mobile—whenever they want, wherever they want. For years, we have been revolutionizing the way entertainment is consumed in the nation, offering our subscribers an extensive entertainment portfolio featuring top digital entertainment partners. Miss Universe is one platform we would not miss out on,” PLDT Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan said Thursday during the signing of contract among PLDT,TV5, Solar Entertainment and Miss Universe Organization.

PLDT and Smart Communications partnered with broadcast network TV 5 for the coverage of Miss Universe 2016, utilizing the most extensive fixed line and wireless networks in the country.

Pangilinan added that the PLDT Group will provide exclusive behind the scene access to key events such as the swimsuit and long gown competitions and real-time viewing of the coronation night.

Also, the PLDT Group partnered with the Miss Universe Organization and the official local broadcaster of the event, Solar Entertainment Corporation.

PLDT and Smart will provide mobile and broadband connectivity for the duration of the pageant through its Fibr broadband network which delivers Internet speed of up to 1 gigabits per second (1 Gbps) and its mobile LTE network.

“The Internet and social media will undoubtedly play a substantial role in Miss Universe in the Philippines. Our digital and social media capabilities will enable interaction of the public as we cover events leading up to the pageant,” PLDT and Smart Chief Revenue Officer Eric Alberto said.

“Miss Universe 2016 will be using PLDT and Smart’s services throughout their entire journey, while fans will be able to immerse themselves in not only the coronation night, but also on all the exciting events leading up to it. True to our promise of bringing the ultimate Miss Universe experience, our subscribers will get a chance to witness the coronation night live via free ticket promos,” he added.

For its part, TV 5 will provide viewers access to the preliminary show particularly the swimsuit and long gown rounds. “Filipinos can look forward to watching their favorite contestants compete even before the grand finale, which is something only TV5 can offer,” TV5 President and CEO Chot Reyes said.

“We aim to bring the pageant to life by bringing it closer to the hearts and enthusiasm of every Filipino," Reyes added.

TV5 signed with Solar Entertainment a partnership which encompasses on-air, on-ground, and PR values, the blocktime airing of the Coronation Night on January 30, the exclusive airing of the long gown and swimsuit preliminary competitions on January 28 and 29, which will also be available online on the same day, powered by PLDT and Smart.

Meanwhile, Solar Entertainment expects that it will be able to showcase the wonders and beauty of the Philippines through delivering the optimum broadcast quality coverage of the prestigious event.

“Bringing Miss Universe to the Philippines is one of the top events that we have ever invested in. It is an opportunity that we did not want to miss. For Miss Universe, we have jampacked activities that will be happening at the same time and we’re excited to share it with the viewers,” Solar Entertainment Corporation President and CEO Wilson Tieng said. John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
