Passengers still crowding at various bus terminals in Dagupan
DAGUPAN CITY, Jan. 3 (PNA) -- Passengers are still crowding at various terminals in Dagupan City Tuesday as they head back to where they came from after the long holiday in a bid to catch up with their respective works and classes.
Tuesday (January 3) is the first working day of the year and also the first day of the resumption of classes for pupils and students.
Passengers queued since Monday at the terminals of Victory Liner, Five Star, Solid North and Dagupan Bus and at the terminals of passenger vans at the Dagupan City Vehicle Holding area.
But because of their sheer number, they cannot all be accommodated by available buses at one time.
These passengers were vacationers who spent Christmas and New Year with their relatives in Pangasinan and are now going back either to Manila, Baguio and Zambales and some to Isabela.
Observers said buses are leaving their respective terminals in Dagupan City at almost 15-minute interval but because there are many passengers wanting to go back home, the number of buses available is not enough.
Bus dispatchers said it may take till early Wednesday yet for all the terminals to be decongested from waiting passengers in view of the big number of vacationers who came to Pangasinan this past Yuletide season.
With vacationers now leaving or have already left, traffic is now almost normal in most streets of Dagupan especially with its three installed traffic lights already functioning. (PNA)
