5 suspects, including 2 minors, nabbed for illegal manufacture of fireworks in Bulacan
CAMP GEN. ALEJO SANTOS, Bulacan, Dec. 19 (PNA) -- Police continue to intensify their crackdown against illegal manufacturers of firecrackers in this province, dubbed as the “fireworks Capital†of the Philippines.
In its latest operations against clandestine fireworks shops, police arrested five suspects, including two minors, during a surveillance in Barangay Pulong Buhangin, Santa Maria.
Bulacan acting police director Senior Supt. Romeo Caramat Jr., identified the arrested suspects as Edwin Del Rosario, 40, caretaker; Rolly Roxas, 32, helper, native of Bocaue Bulacan; Jayr Asi, 26, helper, and the two 15-year old suspects, all residents of Sitio Manggahan, Barangay Pulong Buhangin, Sta. Maria.
Supt. Raniel Valones, acting chief of police of Santa Maria Municipal Police Station, reported that his men arrested the suspects while conducting patrolling and surveillance operation against illegal firecrackers.
Valones said the suspects failed to present any documents pertaining to the manufacturing of fireworks.
Recovered from the suspects were chemicals being used in making fireworks, finished products and other raw materials.
