DTI-Calabarzon engages social media for info mobilization on trade, industry services

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna, March 3 (PNA) -- The Calabarzon Regional Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI 4A) has embarked on engaging the social media platforms to reach a great number of people about its services and programs.
In an interview with the Philippine News Agency (PNA) on Friday, DTI Regional Director Marilou Q. Toledo said the regional office has created its official Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts.
Toledo said their new media platforms are in pursuit of DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez's directives to expand the reach in informing the public about the services and programs of the department.
â€By using the social media, we can reach a greater number of people specially the millennials in addition to our flyers and information materials,†Toledo explained.
She added that complaints and inquiries can easily reach their office for immediate action except when mediation is necessary.
"We can act immediately on people’s concerns however, when mediation is required, and advised them to go to their nearest DTI offices for the appropriate action,†she added.
Toledo also explained that the department encourages electronic commerce (ecommerce) where people sell and buy through the Internet specially the millennials who are more techno-savvy with the Net.
Other than queries and complaints, DTI offers networking sites for business names registration, sales promotions, exports, entrepreneurships, career opportunities, among other services. (PNA)
