DOH 6 honors top performing partners in Antique
SAN JOSE de BUENAVISTA, Antique, Dec. 19 (PNA) -- The Department of Health (DOH) Region 6 honored Antique’s top performing districts and one municipality in the conduct of the national school-based deworming, lymphatic filariasis mass drug administration (MDA) and school-based immunization (SBI), Monday.
The awards were handed by DOH Assistant Regional Director Dra. Paz Corrales, Antique Officer-in-Charge Julius Ceasar Tajanlangit and Antique Integrated Provincial Health Center (IPHC) officer Dr. Ric Noel Naciongayo.
Tajanlangit congratulated the school principals and school heads who did their duty well in order to implement the health programs for good health is the school children’s ticket to a productive citizenry.
He said that the MDA and SBI are necessary for the protection of the health of children.
Meanwhile, Corrales said that the accomplishment in Antique has contributed much to the regional figure. She then urged the school officials to continue their good partnership.
Naciongayo said that recognizing the Department of Education (DepEd), DOH and municipalities in the province of Antique is their way of giving back for all the efforts and sacrifices that were done by their partners in pursuing health programs.
The schools which got an above 95 percent coverage for MDA and SBI were the Anini-y District , Sibalom North District, Hamtic South District, Pandan District, Sebaste District, San Remegio l, San Remegio ll and Bugasong.
The Diclum National High School, Callan National High School, Igcado National High School and San Pedro National High School posted a 100 percent coverage for the MDA and SBI.
The Local Government Unit (LGU) of San Jose got the award as the only municipality in the province of Antique with a 100 percent coverage on Filariasis MDA.
The awarding ceremony was held at the Integrated Provincial Health Center (IPHC). (PNA)
