Crime drops amid vigorous anti-illegal drug campaign

CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan De Oro City, Aug. 13 (PNA) – The crime incidents all over the country has reduced by 49 percent amid a vigorous anti-illegal drug campaign, police Director General Ronald Dela Rosa said hereFriday.

Dela Rosa was in Cagayan De Oro City to confer awards to various police offices and individuals in Northern Mindanao on the occasion of the 115th police service anniversary.

During his short message, Dela Rosa reported that the crime in the country had significantly reduced, which showed the success of the anti-illegal drug drive in the country.

“This only goes to show that most of these crimes that are happening in our communities are drug-related because when we focused our attention on the drug problem, crimes also dropped,” Dela Rosa said.

In Northern Mindanao alone, the reported crime cases in July 2016 dropped by 44 percent compared to the crime reported during the same month in 2014 and 2015.

“The campaign (anti-illegal drug drive) is just starting,” Dela Rosa said.

He said that despite the criticisms from various sectors, getting rid of the illegal drug business would remain the focus of the police.

Dela Rosa said that next in the list of the police would be a nationwide drive against all forms of illegal gambling.

“Let us continue with our campaign as long as what we are doing is in compliance with the law and respect of human rights,” Dela Rosa told members of the police regional command here. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
