Cagayan De Oro, Iligan City police bag awards for illegal drug campaign
CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan De Oro City, Dec. 16 (PNA) -- Cagayan de Oro City police chief, Police Senior Supt. Ronnie Francis Cariaga, bested all other city police chiefs in the highly urbanized city category to bag this year's national award in the fight against illegal drugs campaign.
The regional police command announced here Friday that Cariaga bested all other contenders in the highly-urbanized cities nationwide and was adjudged "Best Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group-Highly Urbanized City Level."
He added that Senator Vicente Sotto III would present the award during the observance of the First Founding Anniversary of the Philippine National Police Anti-illegal Drug Group (AIDG) in Camp Rafael Crame, Quezon City later Friday.
PNP Director General Ronald Dela Rosa and Anti-illegal Drugs Acting Director, Police Supt Albert Ignatius Ferro, would assist Sotto in the presentation of the award.
Iligan City police chief, Police Senior Supt Leony Roy Ga would also receive similar award as "Best Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operation Task Group-Station Level" besting all police stations nationwide.
"We are very happy and deeply honored for these twin awards by our hardworking City Directors. This will not only give justice to the hard work of our personnel on the ground but also encourage them to strive harder amidst many challenges and trials while performing their jobs as policemen," Police Chief Supt. Noel Constantino, the regional police director in Nothern Mindanao, said. (PNA)
