Cagayan de Oro Councilor urges CSWDO to treat mentally-challenged persons

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, April 4, (PNA) - A city councilor here on Tuesday called on the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) to look into programs intended for mentally-challenged persons in the city.

City Councilor Nadya B. Emano-Elipe said that the CSWDO should "gather all mentally-challenged persons here and confine them in a “home” so that they could be taken cared of and be administered with proper medication."

She said that the past CSWDO administration "has taken cared all the mentally-challenged persons in the city’s streets, then confined them in a designated center for treatment."

Some of the mentally-challenged persons got well under the care of the CSWD before they were sent back home, while others were sent to Davao for further treatment.

Emano-Elipe cited the need to gather the mentally-challenged persons in a CSWD supervised center in order to rescue them and to spare the residents from possible harm. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
