Antique OIC optimistic to start construction of legislative building by middle of 2017

SAN JOSE De BUENAVISTA, Antique, Jan. 3 (PNA) -- Antique OIC Governor Edgar Denosta expressed optimism that the construction of the proposed PHP75 million legislative building will start middle of this year.

Denosta said, in an interview Tuesday, January 03, 2017 that this was discussed with Senator Loren Legarda last year the fund requirement has been included in the General Appropriations Act (GAA).

He said that the lady senator, whose roots hail from Antique and worked out for the inclusion of the funding in the GAA, advised that the frontage of the old capitol building where the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) now holds office should be preserved because of its historical significance. It was built during the American period.

“We are so thankful for the funding,” Denosta said.

Meanwhile, Denosta was thankful to capitol employees for their services rendered in 2016 as he hoped that they would work harder in 2017 with the forthcoming holding of the Western Visayas Regional Athletic Association (WVRAA) meet next month and the Palarong Pambansa on April.

“We have a lot of things to do in 2017 but we can do it with your support again,” Denosta said.

Meanwhile, board members Fernando Corvera and Pio Sumande, in today’s flag-raising ceremony said that 2017 2017 marks a long journey for the capitol employees.

Corverva hoped that the executive and legislative offices will join efforts in order to achieve more awards this 2017 following the province’s 6 Excel Award for 2016 in Environmental Governance given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).

“Let us be strict as civil servants,” he said. Corvera said that coming early to work should be one of the New Year’s resolution of the employees.

Sumande said that he expects Antique to shine in this 2017 with the many possibilities and opportunities that would come like the regional and national sports events.

In fact, Sumande considers 2017 as a banner year for the province. (PNA)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
