All towns of Ilocos Sur are still experiencing a total blackout today (Tuesday) due to the onslaught of super typhoon Juan.
This was confirmed by Clarence Ducusin, spokesman of the Ilocos Sur Electric Cooperative (ISECO), who said their linemen and technicians are still conducting clearing operations in all of their damaged lines.
At the same time, a total of 167 families, comprising of 724 individuals, had been moved to the different evacuation centers in the towns of Magsingal, Santa, San Vicente, Sta, Catalina, Caoayan, Candon City and Sta. Cruz in Ilocos Sur.
Those evacuated are from the 16 coastal barangays of the province.
Up to 5 p.m., the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (PDRRMC) was still maintaining an alert status. (PNA)
