      Section 1- Title - This ordinance shall be known as the Tourist Welfare Fee Ordinance in the Municipality of Loay. For purposes of shortening the name, this ordinance shall be known as TFO.

      Section 2 -Statement of Purpose - The purpose of this ordinance is to raise funds to finance various activities in the town that would promote the welfare of the visiting tourists like the maintenance of peace and order, promotion of culture and entertainment among other things. The revenue that can be raised from this ordinance shall also be used for the protection of the Loay River from pollution and abuse.

      Section 3 -Scope and Limitations -This ordinance covers both visiting foreign and local tourists who will avail of the town’s tourist facilities specifically the floating restaurants and the river cruising. Floating restaurants from nearby towns are also covered in this ordinance. Tourists who will drop by at other tourists’ destinations in Loay are exempted from paying the tourist welfare fee. However, they maybe assessed by a minimal amount in every stop they take as a donation.

      Section 4 -The Tourist Welfare Fee - There shall be collected from each tourist the amount of Ten Pesos (P 10.00) as a tourist welfare fee every time the subject-tourist uses the specified tourist facility in the Municipality of Loay.

      Section 5– Mode of Collection – the owner of the tourist facility shall be the one to collect the amount provided for in section 4 and shall remit the same to the representative of the Municipal Treasure’s Office of Loay, Bohol every day.

      Section 6 -Accrual of Funds - All monies derived from the collection of the tourist fee shall accrue to the general fund of the local government unit of Loay.

      Section 7 - Effectivity - This ordinance shall take effect on October 1, 2007.
