Priest defends medical team in surgical scandal (4:50 p.m.)

MANILA -- A church official on Wednesday rushed to the side of the doctors and nurses involved in the surgery scandal in Cebu City.

Monsignor Achilles Dakay, spokesman of the archdiocese of Cebu, said the scandal that happened at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) should not be blamed solely on the doctors and nurses but it should be the person responsible for the indecent incident.

“They seem to forget the whole thing. They are blaming the doctors for what they do but I think they should blame the guy for what he did,” Dakay said.

He also admitted that the incident also indicated the weakening moral guidance among the Cebuanos and the spreading homosexuality in the province.

“We would like to feel sorry for what’s happening here and maybe we could be partly to be blamed for it,” he lamented.

The prelate said the Catholic Church sympathized with the homosexuals because they did not choose to be that, but committing homosexual acts would be “another thing”. (MSN/Sunnex)

The medical team should be punished severely as a way to set precedent; a warning to other professionals not to do something like this again.

As for the patient, why he placed a foreign object up his anal canal is his own business. He shouldn't be awarded any monetary gain. He was the one that put himself on that predicament. He should have known the consequences of doing that...

I am more shocked on the actions of the physicians not so much on the homosexual patient.
As physicians, they should uphold themselves to the sacred Hippocratic oath they swore upon graduation of medical school. The physician saves, repairs, cures and aids in the healing of the body. Not the antithesis.

I know this incident is just a minority case. Not all Filipino physicians-surgeons are like this.
The Filipino doctor is competent and one of the best. I know this for a fact.

See that was what i have said in the other thread, ang cellphone gamay kaajo unless ang nag video nag libot libot sa operating table kay gi capture sad ijang nawong! YOu know what? this was really a baloney! I am not against sa bajut pero there really was something wrong with the story, i dont solely blame  the medical people, but  the bajut itself.   

Dodong what was the position do you think sa bajut nga gitangtangan sa canister? Peeps think about it! it is either gipakulob ang pasyente or hayang pero bilangkad like manganak! karon hukom mo tanan! if that person video'ing was using a cellphone, unsaon pagkakita sa ijang nawong?

Di sad ko mo side sa pari oi! Akong opinion is based on  a forensic study or whatever! NAKS! agi na ni tan-aw ug Tru TV! hahahaha

Nah Dodong this is one good lesson for you too! kay ma doctor raba jud ka one day and gusto raba jud ka mag Doctors withour borders, tua raba didto nang mga klaseha sa mga tawo nga way mga ethics!
