The National Statistics Office (NSO) assured the authenticity of civil registration documents it releases through its outlets outside National Capital Region (NCR).
NSO gave this assurance as it observed people aiming to secure genuine documents still flock to NCR applying for such even if they can do so at the agency's outlet nearest them.
People also continue traveling to NCR, particularly to NSO's office along East Ave. in Quezon City, so they can follow up their applications, the agency observed.
"It's not necessary to travel far since documents will be released at the outlets where they filed their applications," NSO civil registration chief Lourdes Hufana clarified, however.
She said NSO prints these documents on security paper.
Public offices and other entities accept NSO documents released through the agency's non-NCR outlets, she said.
Hufana said NSO improved its nationwide documentation system to facilitate release of documents people request.
To help avoid documentation problems in the future, NSO is reminding people to register within 30 days births, marriages and deaths that occurred.
NSO also said people must ensure correctness of information they provide regarding these incidents. - PNA
