Cebuanos benefited from community outreach program
« on: September 24, 2012, 07:14:59 AM »
Hundreds of Cebuanos benefited from the community outreach program initiated by the Office of the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor on Saturday at the SM City Consolacion in Consolacion, northern Cebu.

Among the public services were free prosecutor’s clearance, legal consultation and issuance of National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance.

Dubbed as “Access to Justice Project,” the program was participated in by bureaus attached to the Department of Justice, the Integrated Bar of the Philippines, Department of Health and law students from Southwestern University and the University of San Jose-Recoletos in Cebu City.

Cebu Provincial Prosecutor Jane Petralba said the program was in line with the 115th founding anniversary of the DOJ.

Petralba also thanked the DOJ’s attached bureaus, IBP and the universities who responded to her appeal to participate in the program.

Immigration Alien Control Officer Casimiro Madarang II said Justice Secretary Leila de Lima has issued a memorandum to bring the immigration services to the countryside.

The Bureau of Immigration was also among the DOJ-attached bureaus that participated in the outreach program. - source: pna.GOV.PH
