Wuppertal, a mixture of outgoing metropolis and cosy village richly adorned with stucco facades and handsome half- timbered houses, offers interesting surprises: a total of 8,723
It has a population of 360,000. The birthplace of Friedrich Engels a German social scientist and philosopher, who developed communist theory alongside his better-known collaborator, Karl Marx, co-authoring The Communist Manifesto (1848). Engels also edited the second and third volumes of Das Kapital after Marx's death. The home of Bayer chemicals ( Aspirin), the first concentration camp was built here.

Day Grazie,
I´m banging my head, I can´t follow the guidelines of Inday Hazel, bolok gajud kining akong utok brain. Please google the Schwebebahn.
I will try to post more about Wuppertal which is very rich in history and culture.
One that is worth mentioning is the Barmer Erklaerung ( Barmen Communique) that expresses the separation of the church and the state, and that during NS (National Socialism with Adolf HItler as the godfather) regime, the Protestant religion abhors the politics of the this era 1934.

The Schwebebahn ( Picture comes later),

The Wuppertal Schwebebahn is a suspension railway in Wuppertal, Germany. Its full name is the “Eugen Langen Monorail Suspension Railway” (Einschienige Hängebahn System Eugen Langen). Designed by Eugen Langen, who originally planned to build it in Berlin, it was built in 1900, opened in 1901 and is still in use today as a local transport system in the city. It is the oldest monorail system in the world.

The suspension railway travels along a route 13.3 kilometres long, about 12 metres above the surface of the river Wupper between Oberbarmen and Sonnborner Straße[1] (10 km[2]) and approximately 8 m above the city streets, between Sonnborner Straße and Vohwinkel[1] (3.3 km).[2] At one point the railway crosses the A46 motorway. The entire trip takes about 30 minutes.[2]

75,000 commuters uses this means of transportations during working days.
