THE NELSON AND FE RIO CANCER CARE CENTER

Background

    In the early 1950s, one of our founders, Dr. Luther Z. Ramiro, together with Dr. Nelson Dianala Rio and Dr. Fe Tormo Rio came to Bohol to be part of the pioneering works in modern medicine and Christian medical mission in the province of Bohol. For almost half a decade, they dedicated their lives to the healing of not only the body but the souls and spirit of all who sought their help. In close partnership and mutual support, both started a legacy of providing quality hospital-based health care services as a commitment and an expression of their shared faith. The same commitment is manifest in the work and ministry of the Ramiro Community Hospital in its present services to the people of Bohol and of neighboring provinces.

    Towards the last years of their lives, both Dr. Nelson and Dr. Fe Rio were stricken with cancer. They went through difficult times physically and eventually succumbed to the destructive nature of the disease, but in a way that allowed them to prevail in spirit because of their unwavering faith on a God that cares and lives forever. Thus, the Nelson and Fe Rio Cancer Care Center is dedicated to these two Christian medical pioneers in Bohol for their healing ministry in this island. It is also to celebrate their triumph of spirit over a dreadful disease through a faith that overcomes all fear of anything.

    Mission of the NFR CCC

    The NFR CCC shall provide quality cancer care services to all who seek its services through qualified and competent staff. It shall include and incorporate in the delivery of its services, a program to provide spiritual support, comfort and encouragement to all who desire and express the need for it.
    At Ramiro Community Hospital, the current services available for cancer patients include

bro Bran... how I love and happy nga ma naa natay Cancer center sa Bohol... but the name itself... Im sorry ha. na phobia naman mi sa akong family sa Ramiro oi.
in relation to this, in my case, naa juy kulang ang Ramiro... in my case sa CT SCAN. I had my CT scan way back January 20, 2010 because I was complaining then for a severe and extreme headache. but the CT Scan says NEGATIVE.  but my family is determined that there is something wrong in my head kay ga tuwad-tuwad jud ko sa kasakit... so the decided to rushed me to Cebu Doctors Hospital, then the neurologist didnt request for another CT scan instead ang plate sa akong ct scan sa ramiro maoy gipa re- read sa technician sa Cebu doc, the it says... CEREBRAL INFARCT... so i was treated then at Cebu doc... so look at me now... im good... not fully but im recovering... on my way na to be well..

Hello Tita Lee,

How are you ! I trust that you and your family are envigorated by the Power of Jesus Christ in our lives! Praise be to Jesus Christ in all things, and before things, and after all things, praise be to Jesus Christ!

I did not know that related man diay ka ni Drs. Nelson and Fe Rio. I have a very good friend who works in Ramiro, si Dr. Zaldy Buac, who is also the Chief of Surgery at Gallares Hospital, but also working in Ramiro.

I am fond of Ramiro. My late grand-uncle, Dr. Hermogenes T. Ebuenga, M.D , was the Chief of Surgery and Anesthesiology at Ramiro Hospital. He was the husband of former Dean of the School of Nursing, Mrs. Ebuenga "Mama Tepol"

Please give my regards to your family, Tita Lee. May God always keep us in good health and warm and kind spirits. Let us also pray for the increased skills and facilities in the medical systems in Bohol. May it always advance through the grace and guidance of Jesus Christ who is Lord of All , Lord of all Physicians, Nurses, Pharmacists, Healers.
