Controlling the Flirtation

I am a flirtatious man. I will admit that.
If I see a beautiful woman, I will flirt with her, but I realize that this can be detrimental for one's partner.
So I have taken steps to implement in order I minimize my flirtatious nature.
One has been : ignoring.

Yes, as in ignoring a woman who shows interest, and physical interest.

This has backfired on me. This Friday (last) there is a woman who I have been trying to avoid and ignore in order to prevent escalation of unnecessary drama, lol. (o man!). It has turned out that this woman who I've been trying to avoid has a crush on me and has told the very person that I did not want her to tell this to. My own love.

So. my current reaction this weekend: What the heck! LOL! GRRRRRRRRRRRR!

So, guys, any hints?
