The Family As A Basic Social Institution
« on: January 18, 2009, 03:21:32 PM »
Article 2 of the Philippine Constitution

Section 4. The State shall strengthen the family as a basic social institution. The natural right and duty of parents in the rearing of the youth for civic efficiency and the development of moral character shall receive the aid and support of the government.
Romans 8:38-39
"For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers,  neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

This is good in the constitution only, our government is not giving its own duty to protect its citizens, so most of us go outside the country to feed the family at home,  so the family as a basic social institution is not holding true.  Kids whose parents are OFW are turning to be spoiled and undisciplined.  You donĀ“t wonder there are lots of drug addicts nowadays.

Great thread, imo.
"Rather, living the truth in love, we should grow in every way into him who is the head, Christ, from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, with the proper functioning of each part, brings about the body's growth and builds itself up in love. "

-Ephesians 4:15-16,

Well said, Manay.
