I like my ampalaya and radish bitter. Dire sa Japan very mild kaayo ang taste sa ampalaya and radish. Their radish is even so sweet I eat it as is, fresh and raw, just like I eat carrots, paprika and lettuce. I throw in a generous portion of ampalaya (sliced thinly) in pinakbet and bulanglang (my wife's Pangasinan influence). Yummy!
