Leif H. Larsen and Domingo D. Lucenario Jr, the Norwegian and Philippinesâ€™ ambassadors respectively, and the wives of their Indonesian and Malaysian counterparts were killed along with the two pilots. The Dutch and Polish ambassadors were injured in the crash.

The US Geological Survey said the 7.3-magnitude earthquake struck 52 miles (83km) east of Kathmandu, close to Mount Everest. Tuesdayâ€™s quake was one-fifth as powerful as the magnitude-7.8 that struck last month.

As many as 66 people from Nepal, India and Chinese Tibet are believed dead as a result of the tremor.

At the last government estimate, more than 1,100 are believed to be injured. Both estimates are expected to climb as hard-hit rural villages contact officials.

Typhoon Dodong made landfall over Pananapan point, Sta. Ana, Cagayan around 4:45 p.m. Sunday (May 10), pummeling the area as well as several provinces in Cagayan with ferocious winds and torrential rains of about 185 kph sustained winds and gusts of up to 220 kph.

Brazilian pups have been given a new leash on life, thanks to these "Paw-blo Picasso" artworks. The clever canines created the masterpieces by shaking their coats after being covered in animal-friendly paint. By being positioned close to the canvases, they sent splatters of paint across the boards in spectacular fashion.

Each pet-size Jackson Pollock was a shelter pup, and the stunning slow-motion video and high-speed photography were used to show off their skills in hopes of finding them new owners. After an exhibition called "Canismo" that highlighted their work, five of the eight puppies from Sao Paulo were adopted.

The project is the brainchild of Brazilian artists Gabriel Morais, Leandro Bordoni, Hugo Veiga, Diego Machado and Renato Zandona. While looking for a way to make art that would benefit the community, they were also able to give the dogs new homes.

Morais said: "The concept was born from a serious issue: People prefer to buy a dog because of its breed, instead of adopting. The combination of different colors in the paintings shows the mixture of breeds as random and as beautiful as each mongrel.

"The dogs weren't easy to work with, but it was less complicated than we thought because a professional dog trainer was on set. Dogs are so easy to love because they give you everything and ask for nothing in return. There is a quote by Bob Barker that sums it up perfectly: 'A person who has never owned a dog has missed a wonderful part of life.'"

Destructive Typhoon That Just Hit China

More than one million people have been evacuated from Chinaâ€™s east coast near Shanghai, as Typhoon Chan-hom struck the region Saturday morning.

With high winds, crashing ocean waves, and inches rain that destroyed farming fields and soaking homes, it could be the worst typhoon to hit the area since 1949, Reuters reports.
