1.
Create deadlines for yourself. Deadlines are great because they can help keep you focused and organized. Deadlines keep you from getting distracted but can also work against you if they cause you to stress out. Remember not to stress about deadlines you have created for yourself. A great post on deadlines was posted on Wednesday at Scott H. Young’s blog.

Don’t sleep away the day! By getting up early you are able to begin attacking the day’s to-do list sooner. But make sure you have gotten enough sleep, otherwise you’ll be tired all day. I try to get around 7 hours each night to keep me going at full speed. Here’s a link to post on getting up early from this week.
3.
Minimize distractions. It’s the little distractions throughout the day that really do us in when it comes to being productive. If you can, turn off your cell phone, set your landline to go straight to voice mail, disconnect the internet so you won’t be tempted to check your email every 2 minutes and keep the television off. And if music distracts you as well, keep the radio off also. Here are some additional tips on curbing your internet addiction.
4.
Have an organized workspace. Nothing kills productivity like having to look high and low for something due to a messy workspace. Sometimes having a lot of paper around is unavoidable, so what do you do? I have a drawer by my desk at home that I put all these papers in. Then, I go through it once a month and throw out anything I can. This keeps my desk from being cluttered with paper and I know right where to look for papers when I need them. Want a zen-like working environment?

Avoid procrastination like the plague. Easier said than done, right? Productivity501 offered up the best tip I’ve seen for procrastination – tell yourself you only have to do something you don’t want to do for 15 minutes and then you can quit. And once you start, you’ll probably keep going with it since getting starting is the problem. For more from on procrastination
