Looking back at her life, Mandy Dela Rama doesn't have any regrets.
Already in her 40s, for Mandy Dela Rama, age is nothing but a number. Unlike most women, Mandy is fearless about aging. “I live the age that I am now,†she says.
She says that she has no regrets. “Everything that happens in your life makes you who you are today. I am very fulfilled as a woman and as a mother.†In her 20s, she always wondered what it was like to be 40. She didn’t think her 20s would be over in the blink of an eye.
When asked if she would like to find the fountain of youth, she says that she would never want to be forever young. “That would stunt growth if you are always fighting your age and who you are. Just take it a step at a time and celebrate every milestone.†Instead of looking up to Peter Pan who is eternally young, she looks up to Benjamin Button, the man who starts aging backwards. “That way, you get to bring the knowledge with you when you get younger.†What she misses most is the carefree feeling that comes with being young. “When you’re younger, there are less ‘real’ problems. But when you look back, all those problems are just actually magnified in your mind.â€
As you get older, sometimes life tests your character. Mandy has took several risks and chances in her life and she says that she’s happy she did. She learned that people have the ability to survive on their own and for that she is proud.
