John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.

The Philippine-American War was the United States' first experience in fighting a guerrilla-based war. The some 60,000 US army that was sent to pacify the Philippines in this war was composed mostly of veteran indian fighters as well as the cavalry units that fought the Spanish Army in Cuba. More American soldiers died fighting the Filipino Revolutionary Army than did fighting the Spanish Army during the Spanish-American War.
