CORTES, Bohol – Fifty-one students from two catholic secondary schools here avail of Philippine Information Agency’s (PIA) Leadership Training Seminar (LETS) Workshop, designed to them with the skills to perform as student leaders in their respective schools.

The students from Infant King Academy (IKA) in Cortes and Saint Vincent Institute (SVI) in Maribojoc gathered at the Parola Hall of the Municipal Port of Maribojoc for a one-day leadership training workshop last Saturday, June 23.

IKA Cortes Student Supreme Government (SSG) adviser Ma Rosario Baroso said the training suits the need of most students who get elected as officers in their respective organizations in class or school who have very little knowledge about how to become a good leader.

Aside from inputs on good leadership traits, the training workshop also includes teambuilding game activities, officers’ rights and responsibilities workshop as well as rules in parliamentary procedures.

According to the PIA, the office has noted that many students who get elected to key positions in their respective schools do not have the necessary skills to conduct meetings that pass without a challenge on procedural deficiencies and evade from being declared illegal.

The PIA designed the leadership training workshop with the aim to respond to that specific need, the PIA said.

Vincent Gee Abrasado, IKA class adviser also hailed the training which he sees as a crucial skills enhancement activity that boosts student leadership capabilities which most students do not always confidently show.

The training workshop also comes with a mock meeting where students go through the usual meeting process but are assessed on their use of training inputs including the terminologies, procedures and the skillful use of efficient and proven methods to make meetings attain its goals.

Aside from the leadership training workshop, the PIA in Bohol also offers news writing and school organ production training seminar series, which details the tasks and the enhances the students’ skills in news production.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
