what an inspiring story. thanks, raqz.
from my end, divine grace is really at work. i already despaired. asa intawon akong 20+ cats and 4 dogs when my sister, who owns the connecting house (we share a common garage), shall already have her series of chemo sessions. pets are off limits because her immunity would be very low by then. unsa na kaha ning usa ka battalion nga pets. nanghilak na mi. we know of friends who ended up putting down their pets in the same situation. i saw the end of the world. we thought of many possibilities for her--- a convent, tagbilaran, a hotel in siquijor, etc. she'd be too far from her doctor in case of emergency, she had said.
luckily, two houses away in the same subdivision is a house up for rent whose owner, a friend, had already relocated to australia. my sister asked if we could rent the place for her recuperation. it was offered for free. thank god everything worked out fine. she's nearby, and all our pets are saved.
