Contests to spice up Loay Sandugo commemoration
 
SALES blitz for the commemoration of the first international treaty of friendship in 1565 between Datu Sikatuna and Miguel Lopez de Legaspi of Spain has come to this: organizers have determined that contests to spice up the event. The Executive Committee of the events organizer, Golden World Services have announced that contests to make the historic Loay Blood Compact truly appealing to both local and foreign tourists may be participated in by any Boholano by choice or blood.

Open for contention by anybody is the Name of the Event contest: a search of an appropriate term that best projects the blood Compact in Loay, Bohol. And then, to portray and symbolize an image of the Loay Blood Compact of 1565 when east meets west as the two cultures agree in peaceful co-existence, a logo design contest is also opened. Furthermore, a theme song that best preserves and promotes the essence of the March 25, 1565 Blood Compact in Loay is again up for grabs by local and international composers and songwriters.

The contests offer very attractive prizes for the winners and consolation prizes for all non-winning entries. It may be recalled that Local Government of Loay has tasked Golden Word Services to promote, conceptualize and organize the commemoration of the 1565 event for it to attain its due international exposure. The contests just form part of the series of events lined-up for the two-week celebration culminating with the Blood Compact commemoration on March 25, 2007.
