A government is characterized by the health care it gives to the poor, deprived, and underserved people. So reads the signage just before you exit the Francisco Dagohoy Municipal Hospital in Inabanga. It is conceivably one principle
Gov. Edgar M. Chatto lives by as he came to visit the district hospital on Monday.
A day before his 52nd birthday,
Chatto was with Internal Affairs Executive Assistant and in charge of infrastructure Engr. Ben Redulla to inspect project developments in the hospital.
An administration building had been put up to make way for the conversion of the current administrative office into private rooms.
A P5M construction of a Basic Basic Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care (BEmONC) facility is also ongoing at the back of the existing hospital building.
The Department of Health introduced this form of hospital upgrade to revise the current newborn practices in line with Millenium Development Goal 4 of the World Health Organization which is the Reduction of Maternal and Child Mortality by 2015.
Chatto also made the rounds of facilities, equipment, and staff with hospital chief Dr. Nestor Jumao-as to assess needs and improvements for the provision of primary health care.
Just last Friday at his State of the Province Address,
Chatto pronounced the implementation of the Hospital Modernization Program this year. The plan serves a two-pronged purpose: to raise the quality of their medical services; and to increase their revenue-generation capacity.
Partnerships with DOST and UP Manila on a data profiling software system, food production technology specific to address child nutrition as well as access to expertise in the area of mental health are also in the works.
