Renowned Boholano actor -director Cesar "Buboy" Montano, who lost his gubernatorial bid last May, may yet be heading the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) after one year. He belongs to the Liberal Party.
Losing elective candidates, under the law, can only be given appointive posts in government 365 days after election.
This possibility of another Boholano in the new administration came in the heels of the appointment of another Boholano Edwin Lacierda who was designated president Noynoy Aquino's spokesperson.
The "Montano-for-PCSO" revelation was accidentally brought to the public in the recent tiff between the LP Bohol candidate for governor-actor and his manager of 25 years Norma Japitana, who disclosed the alleged plan for Montano to head one of the leading charitable institutions in the country.
If he becomes PCSO head, Montano will be able to pursue various pro-poor programs for the indigents not only in Bohol but the entire country - given the deep liquidity of the PCSO coffers.
