Guided by “to make the best better†motto, 4-H Clubs and the Rural Improvement Clubs (RICs) members in the province showed their knacks in various competitions during the Provincial Farm Family Forum held April 11, 2012 at Jjs Seaffod Restaurant here.
4-Her Ms. Jonna Mae Jose of Ubay bested eight other contestants in the minus-one singing competition in her rendition of one of the hits of Shania Twain during the same assembly courtesy of the provincial government through the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA).
Ms. Angelique Lubiano of Pilar town proved to the the judges that she is the best among the rest in her “Malunggay Fruit Shake†against “Choco Malunggay Gel†recipe of Candijay’s Dennis de Borja and “Ginataang Tilapia†of Pilar’s Analou Pasos.
Mr. Nepthan Atup of Trinidad grabbed the first prize in the twp-hour poster-making contest during the event besting 11 other 4-H members from other municipalities.
Jose and Lubiano received their respective prizes from provincial board member Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez and OIC provincial agriculturist Larry Pamugas at the end of the program. But Atup failed to receive his prize for he left the scene to catch up the last trip to Trinidad, according to organizers.
Other contests include minus-one singing for the members of the Rural Improvement Clubs (RICs) in different participating towns the Vhong Navarro’s song and dance category.
Winners of various categories are to represent the province in the forth-coming regional assembly at the end of this month wherein competitions, this time, with other provinces in the region are expected, said Pamugas.
Gov. Edgar Chatto and provincial board member Atty. Benjie Arcamo, who represented Vice-Gov. Concepcion Lim graced the assembly, emphasizing the importance of agriculture an one one of the important engines of economy.
