i just learned that this sharon cuneta ad became controversial early last year. the outfit (marie france) stood by her. so did the photographer who publicly denied that the image was photoshopped. but the reading public was more skeptical, especially when there's such a thing as "truth in advertising".
The Megastar for Marie France: Fact or Fiction?02/05/11
I really, really want to believe that Sharon Cuneta has truly won the battle of the bulge this time around with Marie France, but frankly, I'm skeptical.
Check out the before and after photos from Marie France:
Before- no makeup which usually translates to a puffier look; After- heavily made up, features are contoured, creating the look of sharper angles.
Before- hair is natural looking; not styled; After- hair is poker straight AND styled to hide her cheeks, resulting in a thinner looking face.
Before- blouse is loose and shapeless; After- blouse is form-fitting and cinched at the waist, ergo, a more defined figure.
Before- standing with legs apart, thus, creating a wider frame; After- legs are crossed with hips facing forward for a leaner silhouette.
My point is, I believe that the Megastar may have lost some weight, but definitely not as much as the Marie France spin doctors are proclaiming. Maybe they should have waited for 5-6 more months before launching this campaign, when the weight loss is more dramatic?
