Almost 4,000 Filipinos graced the third and final chapter of the Pinoy rock groups Parokya ni Edgar and the Aegis band’s Middle Eastern tour in Manama, Bahrain, ABS-CBN Middle East Bureau reported.

The two groups first showed off their prowess in Doha, Qatar on February 29, followed by another concert in Dubai on March 6 and lastly in Bahrain on March 7. This was held at the Marina Club in Manama, Bahrain.

This one, in particular, was quite successful with OFWs even crossing the desert from Saudi Arabia to watch the predominantly female Aegis band perform with the predominantly male Parokya band.

"(We came from) King Fahad Hospital of the University of Alkhobar (in Saudi Arabia)," a group of nurses said. Other groups said they also came from Saudi Arabia.

The Bahrain leg of ‘Rakrakan Overload’ started at 7:30 pm and the opening number was by Parokya ni Edgar.

Even if it was cold, rock fans were warmed by the performance of Parokya ni Edgar of hits like "This Guy's In Love With You Pare," and "Don't Touch My Birdie."

Two days before the concert, Parokya lead singer Chito Miranda got sick. However, this did not stop him from giving a showstopping performance for the band’s fans as he sang one of their most popular songs, "Mr. Suwabe."

Parokya got the audience so heated up that when Aegis went on, they literally boiled over, especially when they sang the songs which made them popular, "Luha" and "Basang Basa sa Ulan."

This was not Parokya’s first Middle Eastern tour with the Bamboo band and they performed in Dubai in December 2006 when 9,000 people flocked to the Dubai Country Club.
