Let’s be honest ladies — we all want to leave a lasting impression!  But finding jeans that look just as flattering from the back as they do from the front isn’t always easy. While denim shopping can be a drag (and almost as difficult as bathing suit shopping!) knowing your body can help narrow down the choices, and make your search for the perfect pair of jeans more manageable.

Here are some helpful hints for those who are looking to make a grand "exit" in a great pair of jeans.

Bootyliscious
If you are blessed with both curvy hips and a booty to boot, this section is for you.  While many women with this type of figure have the urge to conceal their curves with baggy bottoms, I beg you — resist the temptation!  Stretch denim with a slightly higher rise in the back will support you, and show off your curves in a flattering way.  A loose fit will make you look larger in the leg area, so stick with a sleek style such as a straight or slim fit. Drawing the eye down the length of your leg and showing off your ankles is a trick that celebrities like J. Lo often use to balance out their backsides.

And one last lesson here — basic pockets look best on bootyliscious women, so be sure to avoid embellishments or intricate details that draw unwanted attention to your cheeks!

Curvy hips
Those with womanly hips but a barely-there butt can benefit from some stylish new jeans.  Designer denim is often worth the investment for women with this type of figure, since couture details like contoured side stitching can offer a visual lift.

Also look for a twisted outseam (side seams that look like the curve in below the knee), which will help to thin out the thigh line.  While there are always exceptions, as a general rule, women with this body type should seek out low-rise styles to even your waist-to-hip ratio. And as for silhouette, you’ll look most balanced in a basic, bootcut leg.

Straight and narrow
There are many style secrets available to curve-craving women that can create the illusion of a rounded rear and high-profile hips.  Wide-set back pockets and back-flaps add volume, and “daughter’s pockets” on the front (carpenter-like square side pockets) will work towards creating shape.

This is the perfect body type for a more relaxed fit or trouser style, which is not only a classic style, but just so happens to be right on trend at this time. A straight “yoke” (the horizontal line of stitching across the back just above the pockets) and a wider leg will give the impression of an a hourglass feminine figure and will flatter most straight and narrow silhouettes.
