I Rather Divorce My Husband Than Ask His Sister to Dinner
« on: April 27, 2012, 09:50:49 PM »
By Chicago Sun-Times

Dear Diane:

My marriage of 32 years is headed for the divorce court.

My husband's eldest sister has had complete control over the family since the death of my mother-in-law 25 years ago. Her word is law. She is a troublemaker and a gossip. I had it out with her a long time ago, and we haven't spoken in years.

My husband looks up to his sister and says he can't hurt her feelings. He wants me to call a truce and invite her to dinner.

What choice do I have? I will not give in. COUNT ME OUT

Dear Count Me Out: If you won't give in, you've already drawn the battle lines.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
