GOV. Erico B. Aumentado has assured no less than the highest ranking official of the German government here in the Philippines that justice will be served for the slain Malinka couple.
In his letter to German Ambassador to the Philippines, Axel Weishaupt, dated April 18, 2007, the governor assured the envoy that “the criminals responsible in the killing of German national Helmuth Malinka and his Boholana wife, Eutiquia, will be brought to justice the soonest possible time.â€
He explained that the task force composed of the NBI, CIDG and police investigators is about to close its investigation, with one of the suspects already in custody.
Aumentado likewise informed the German government, through the Embassy, of his instructions to police provincial director P/Sr. Supt. Edgardo Ingking to build an airtight case against the suspects and make sure that they are placed behind bars.
Nevertheless, he expressed the provincial government’s regret for the unfortunate incident and condolences over the untimely death of the Malinka couple.
“I assure you also of the safety of the German nationals in Bohol as the Malinka case is an isolated one. Similarly, all foreign nationals now residing in Bohol are given proper protection from criminal elements by the police,†Aumentado stressed.
