Senator Edgardo J. Angara speaks before the new graduates of the University of Bohol 2007. Angara stressed the countrys need to constantly produce new waves of educated students who will conduct the latest scientific and mathematical research. In the previous congress, Angara, a former U.P. President, wrote the law which created the Commission on Science, Technology and Engineering (COMSET) which will review and upgrade the state of Filipino competitiveness in Science and Technology.

It used to be that in Commencement Exercises of UB, the parents sat at each side of their graduating son or daughter. Now, looking at the picture, the school has changed the tradition and adopted the practice of other schools where the graduates do not have their parents by their side.

The flower pendant pinned on my left breast of the rented barong tagalog is vivid to my memory. There were asparagus leaf, orchids, kalachuchi and white flower that looks like otot-otot. All organically grown and hand picked from our backyard. The toga was a travelling steam sauna, heat and humidity unbearable. Our hairstyle, schollarly look "murag gi tilaan ug baka" (my father's pomade consumed), not to mention the girls "nag lokdo ug pan insaymada" some overdone hair-do.

After the speaker said the word "congratulations", all hats were tossed up in the air, like retaliating troops of flying saucers launched from an allien mother ship.

My last school days was in 1969. It was Rafel Palma College.
The following year, it was UB. We hold classes at the main
wooden building.

Burned ang most part sa UB except ang Administration building, commerce, (old) new building.

Most of the burned areas have been rebuilt (Founders Hall, Achievers Hall) and new buildings are being constructed.
