Student volunteers of Bohol Wisdom School underwent first aid training in the campus last Aug. 1 and 2.
The activity was spearheaded by BWS teachers namely, Cherry S. Calacat - Red Cross Youth Chapter Adviser; Gemma M. Tebio - National Service Training Program professor of the College Department and Norberta I. Romo - Grade School Supreme Student Government Adviser.
The two-day training started with a series of lecture by the National Red Cross resource speakers, Tagbilaran Chapter on First-Aid and Remedies for Common Accidents. It was highlighted on the second day with applications on the theories learned during the training as well as a practicum in the form of a group relay to gauge their knowledge. RCY membership cards were given to the participants to qualify them as First-Aid givers in and off campus.
BWS RCY volunteers hopefully will be able to integrate in their academic life the value of community service not only in the campus but also to the larger community. (Astee Aeaea Uy)
