My Memories of BSAT
« on: July 03, 2008, 01:05:58 PM »
I can still recall the BSAT Song Composed by Justino Romea.

Let us sing and let us praise the BSAT
Its the school that trains brind and hand.
Where the clanging of the anvils,
the buzzing of the sew
And the roar of the plainer
are song we love to here.
Where the joys and hopes are  waiting.
Blend in song as we turn the mill
We are wood and metal workers
We sew, we cook, we draw and hammer.

All these jobs will make our country
Strong and free   ( repeat )

Arguments over grammar and style are often as fierce as those over IBM versus Mac, and as fruitless as Coke versus Pepsi and boxers versus briefs.

I do believe that the BSAT song i posted was correct.  Was there a CVSCAFT song after? My students days in that school was full of memories.

The CVSCAFT Hymn

Our beloved CVSCAFT,
you make a difference
In the lives of young people far and wide
A system of learning with a vision
For progress and a mission
to provide skills and training
For future farmers, midwives,
fishery experts, traders and technologist.

Oh beloved CVSCAFT,
Let your name resound in all the land
Heralding your traditions
of quality and competitiveness
Your proud sons and daughters
will always uphold the values
We love you, now and forevermore.
Long live! CVSCAFT...

Its the school that trains brain and brawn
Where the clanging of the anvils,
the buzzing of the saw
And the roar of the planers
are sounds we love to hear.
Where the joys and hopes of those who love to toil.

We are wood and metal workers
We saw, we cook and fill

It's quite a long years to recall my memorable days in BSAT. I graduated in 1965.
Our salotatorian is now CVSCAFT president, Dr. Elpidio Magante.

Kulang na ug classroon during our times, adto me magklase sa halapad nga grandstand. During our PE time with Mr. Ensong , we play soccer after the roll call.

Editor siya kaniadto sa The Craftsmen's Voice and class valedictorian.  Architecture graduate siya sa UP Diliman, was employed in HK and now practices his profession in the US.  He is a very good writer of both English poetry and balak. Ka batch sila sa elementary ni Clovis Nazareno (who finished high school at DWC), three-time Palanca award winner in English poetry.

From BSAT to CVSCAFT to State university soon.

Before it was turned into a state college, there was much debate in regard to choosing the main campus. Eventually the Bohol Agricultural College in Bilar was selected.  CVSCAFT now has five campuses (Bilar, Tagbilaran, Calape, Clarin and Candijay). It has extension campuses in Balilihan and Buenavista. There are towns that are currently applying for extension campuses.  As regards its application for university status, it may take sometime before Bohol finally has its own state university because CVSCAFT rates poorly in research, community development extension and income generation which are major considerations in addition to instruction (curricula). Only Bilar has a relatively active research component, although all the other campuses are trying their best to comply with this and other requirements. Other considerations include library collections, strength of teaching staff and personnel, staff development program, and laboratories. As regards population, this is not a problem considering that most parents send their children to government schools because of low tuition fees.
