Under this proposal, kon ang estudyante nakatapos og high school, supposedly ang iyang attainment parehas sa nakahuman og 2 years sa college.
Sa akong tan-aw, ang 12-year system (nursery and kindergarten are not considered for this purpose) mopatakdo lang sa atong sistema sa gisunod sa kadaghanang mga tunghaan sa gawas. It's just a matter of reclassifying grade levels in the context of years of study deemed necessary. Karon, naa tay 6 years elementary, 4 years high school, and 4 years (for most courses) college, for a total of 14 years for one to be considered college-educated. Add 2 years, and one has a post-graduate education. If you feel 14 years are enough, fine. But in most other countries, it's 12 + 4, or 16 years for one to be considered a college graduate. Sa ato pa, dili dawaton sa graduate school abroad ang atong college graduate kon kuwang og 2 years according to their system. There's nothing discriminatory about this. Dili ta makaingon nga mas daghan man unta tag naantigohan. After all, it's not a question of how much one knows. As it is, learning is another matter altogether. One can have a doctorate and still remain an idiot. I know. Many of my colleagues fall under this category.
(Sorry if somehow I got my facts wrong. I dropped out of school ages ago.)
