Maguindanao and Cotabato City Representative Bai Sandra Sema said on Monday she has the Senate's assurance for the passage of her bill to convert Cotabato City State Polytechnic College (CCSPC) into a state university.
Sema said Senator Edgardo Angara has vowed to have his similar bill put into public hearings and eventual deliberations before the year ends.
"It was a long-time dream for Muslims, Lumad and Christians here," Rep. Sema said.
Sema, author of House Bill 5914, said Angara's committee on education will be conducting a public hearing on October 9.
Her bill aims to enable CCSP to provide better and low-cost education to poor students in Maguindanao City and other surrounding areas.
