The Bohol ChronicleTwo ranking Boholano police officers are promoted to the operations division of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Central Visayas.
Newly promoted Lapu-Lapu City Police chief SSupt. Louie Oppus will head the Regional Operations and Plans Division while Tagbilaran City Police head C/Insp. Jacinto Cesar will also be the new head of the Regional Firearms and Explosives, Security Agencies and Guards Supervision which is also under the regional operations division.
Oppus, who also served as station commander here in Tagbilaran, had been city police director of Lapu-Lapu for four years, including when it was still a police station under the command of the Cebu Provincial Police Office.
Opus recently took his oath of office before Pres. Arroyo after being promoted to senior superintendent.
Meanwhile, Cesar told the Chronicle yesterday that he will formally be relieved from his post at the city PNP today and that he is just awaiting orders from C/Supt. Federico Perte, the regional deputy director for administration.
He said, the orders from the regional command came even after City Mayor Dan Lim requested for him to stay until after the Sandugo festivities next month.
