Another 'bacon' was brought home when two fourth year students of Bohol Wisdom School won the DTI-Consumer Quiz Bowl held last Thursday at Island City Mall, this city.
The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) celebrated the Consumer Week dated October 15-19, 2007 at the Island City Mall through consumer welfare programs and activities. One of the events was the Consumer Quiz.
Ten schools - Manga National High School, Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School, University of Bohol, Bohol Institute of Technology-International College, Holy Name University, Mansasa High School, Tagbilaran City Science High School, Central Visayas State College of Agriculture, Forestry and Technology, San Isidro National High School and Bohol Wisdom School - participated in the contest, each having one team with two members.
Dianne Radaza and Thara Jill Añasco, IV-Emerald students, composed the team from Bohol Wisdom School. The quiz was divided into three parts: easy, average and difficult rounds.
The easy and average rounds served as the elimination round. During these rounds, the contestants used tag boards for their answers.
Five schools qualified for the difficult round: Manga National High School, Dr. Cecilio Putong National High School, Mansasa High School, Tagbilaran City Science High School and Bohol Wisdom School.
At the difficult round, finalists used the buzzer system in answering. A tie for 1st place between BWS and TCSHS was broken with BWS emerging as champion.
BWS ranked first place with the score of 14, followed by TCSHS at 2nd place (13) and DCPNHS at 3rd place (12).
