Renault eyes stronger Nissan alliance amid growing gov't influence

PARIS/LONDON, Nov. 7 (PNA/Kyodo) -- Renault S.A.'s board decided Friday to seek a stronger alliance with Nissan Motor Co. as the French government aims to expand its influence on the automakers.

While planning further talks with the French government and Nissan, Renault's board "has decided to take necessary steps" to preserve the French automaker's corporate interest and strengthen its ties with the Japanese firm, the company said in a statement released after an emergency board meeting.

Possible steps under consideration include cutting Renault's shareholding in Nissan to give the Japanese affiliate voting rights in Renault, according to sources close to the matter. (PNA/Kyodo)

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
