The Bohol ChronicleBohol provincial police director SSupt. Edgardo Ingking vowed to inspect security guards detailed in business establishments here in the wake of robberies blamed on their laxity.
Buen Villa Pension House along Visarra St. was robbed by an unidentified armed man early dawn Wednesday after its security personnel was sleeping and did not have ammunition for his issued firearm.
The following day, another lone burglar walked through the Maternity Puericulture Hospital's main entrance along J.A. Clarin St., this city, taking two cellular phones and handbags of two hospital employees.
The hospital's security slept while on duty.
According to police, the suspect in the Buen Villa robbery was armed with a .38 caliber revolver.
The wallet of the hotel's janitor identified as one Jason Mendez, 36 was taken by the suspect including the cellular phone and personal cash amounting to P1,500 of the hotel's front desk officer identified as Sherlita Pacallao, 21.
Security guard Domingo Gamalo was sleeping during the incident, according to police.
Gamalo likewise admitted to the City PNP that the firearm issued by his agency is defective.
According to the hotel's janitor, the suspect fled aboard a blue Honda Wave motorcycle.
On the other hand, Hamily Beduya, 23, a midwife at the maternity hospital said she saw the armed robber taking the 2 cellular phones and bags of her colleagues around 4 a.m.
The guard, identified as one Wilhelm Rolon of Dagohoy Security Agency, was sleeping during the incident.
Similar incidents of robbery were blamed on security guards.
