Olympic cyclist Robert Kiserlovski has been fined by police in Croatia for delaying traffic during his training in Bakrac. The London 2012 medal hopeful was pulled over with his training partner, Bojan Rafaj and given a 500 Croatian Kuna fine (around £60) for pedalling too slow.
The police stated that the pair had been holding up the traffic because cars could not overtake them and they should of been riding faster.
Disgruntled by the fine, Kiserlovski and Rafaj deny the charges, instead telling the court that their average speed was over 20mph.
Mr Kiserlovski said, “We were going faster than most of the cars on the road,†adding that: “This is the third time the police have pulled me over.â€
The Croatian police have refused to comment about the incident.
