While some netizens feel bad that Jessica Sanchez sang the American national anthem instead of the Philippine national anthem during the Manny Pacquiao-Timothy Bradley bout, the “American Idol” runner-up said she is hoping she could also sing “Lupang Hinirang” in Pacquiao’s future fights.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News before the boxing match on Saturday (Sunday in Manila), Sanchez said she would love to learn how to speak Tagalog soon.

“[I want to sing ‘Lupang Hinirang] most definitely. I don’t speak any Tagalog but I’ve sang in Tagalog before so maybe in the future,” she said.

Sanchez even said she would ask her mom to teach her to speak Filipino since she does not speak other languages besides English.

“We’ll see what happens. I don’t speak anything. I need to learn,” she said.

John 3:16-18 ESV
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son (Jesus Christ), that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
