by Bohol Chronicle

Cagayan de Oro-based Boholano trader abducted for five days last week was released last Saturday by his alleged kidnappers.

However, Manny Boniao, who hails from Loay town, refused to give details, leaving investigators with testimonies of witnesses who positively identified the two suspects to rely on in solving the kidnapping incident.

According to reports, six armed men barged in Boniao's farm supply store in Barangay Gusa, Cagayan de Oro City in the evening of September 19 and abducted him.

Boniao was reportedly blindfolded until his release in the evening of September 24 near his home.

Family members denied reports that the suspects freed Boniao after they allegedly paid some amount of money to the suspects as "board and lodging" fee.

Some reports even had it that the abductors demanded P100-million ransom.

Investigators described Boniao as "uncooperative" in the efforts to solve the case, but they never let it hamper from pursuing the probe and prosecuting the suspects.

The PNP-Northern Mindanao already filed a complaint before the City Prosecutor's Office against Abdul S. Raco and Malik M. Guro, both residents of Marawi City .

Police Chief Superintendent Jufel C. Adriatico, PNP-Northern Mindanao director, was quoted in reports to have said that Raco and Guro were allegedly seen with four other men who went inside Boniao's establishment on the night of his abduction.

He said it is based on tactic identification and on actual accounts of the witnesses who positively identified the two suspects.

Adriatico already ordered hot pursuit on the suspects and their accomplices as he appealed cooperation from public to report any information that could help solve the case, according to reports.

Adriatico had also been quoted by the media having expressed intention to file amended charges to include one Enrique Goltiao, the owner of the red Mitsubishi Adventure with plate number KCF-331 used in abducting Boniao.

The vehicle is registered under the name of Abdul Hakim Grande who claimed that he already sold it to Goltiao on September 15, four days before the incident.
