2 LPAs to bring rains in Visayas, Mindanao
MANILA - Two low pressure areas (LPA) embedded in Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) will continue to bring rains in Palawan province, Visayas and Mindanao, the state weather bureau said in its 11 a.m. advisory on Friday.
As of 10 a.m. the LPA over the West Philippine Sea was estimated at 435 km west of Iba, Zambales while the another LPA outside of Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) was spotted at 1620 km east of Mindanao.
The LPA outside the PAR is expected to develop into a tropical depression and will enter PAR within the next 24 hours.
Once it intensifies into tropical cyclone, it will be locally named "Ambo," the first to affect the country this year.(PNA)
