Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista will return to Freddie Roach's Wild Card Gym in Hollywood to train for his US comeback fight on Aug. 14 in San Diego.
Bautista, a regular at the Roach's gym, will be leaving for the
US in July in preparation for his upcoming fight.
"Boom-Boom trained there for the past years. He'll find good sparring partners at the Wild Card Gym," ALA Promotions president Michael Aldeguer told Sun.Star Cebu yesterday in an interview. "I'm not sure if Freddie will personally assist him because we haven't had a formal discussion with him."
The 23-year-old Bautista was supposed to fight on June 26 in Virginia against veteran Levi Brea but the event was cancelled and transferred to San Diego, which has a huge Filipino community.
Bautista is scheduled to face a different opponent, who Aldeguer said will be announced in the days to come.
Aldeguer added there is a possibility the hard-hitting Boholano might be fighting for a regional title.
"We're looking at a regional title. We will discuss it with the WBC (World Boxing Council) if he could fight for the WBC International title, which he vacated," said Aldeguer.
