At least 746 indigent Boholanos benefited from the dental mission in the towns of Garcia-Hernandez and Carmen, and free infant oral vaccination in Anda that Rep. Arthur Yap (3rd District) facilitated on November 5-6 that actually served constituents from 10 towns who came to the three venues.
The activity was part of the series of health services that the congressman intends to extend to the people of 3rd district and even in the other areas of Bohol . Yap forged partnership with the Rotary International District 2820 of Japan and Rotary Club of Downtown Manila District 3810 to undertake the series of dental mission.
During the activities, 363 came to Garcia-Hernandez, 169 in Carmen and 214 in Anda. The crowd at the Garcia-Hernandez Municipal Gym also included beneficiaries from Dimiao , Valencia , and Jagna aside from residents of the host town; while those in Anda and Carmen included beneficiaries from neighboring towns.
The Anda activity catered to infants for the oral vaccination. For the hospitalization and medical services of indigent Boholanos, Yap had allocated a total of P1.9 million, of which P1 million was coursed through Governor Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital; P200,000 in Congressman Simeon Toribio Memorial Hospital; P200,000 in Teodoro B. Galagar District Hospital in Jagna; P200,000 in Candijay Community Hospital; and P300,000 in Bohol Medical Care Institute (BMCI).
Yap is pushing HEART (Health, Education, Agriculture, Rural Development and Tourism) program to summarize his slogan of public service.
