Port reclamation on; limestone from CebuJune 4, 2000 Bohol Chronicle The reclamation project at the Tagbilaran City Port resumed yesterday with the arrival of limestone from Cebu.
This development followed after contractors in the province and the provincial government still have not been issued the needed environmental clearance certificate (ECC) by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources regional offices.
A check made by the CHRONICLE yesterday at the project site showed that the limestone supply was delivered by barges all the way from Alcoy, Cebu.
Mara Construction, winning bidder of the P67M reclamation project, stopped accepting limestone from local contractors after Gov. Rene Relampagos declared that no quarrying will be allowed without the ECCs.
The work was resumed yesterday after two barges, full of limestone from Alcoy were delivered direct to the project site.
